LORI McKENNA Signs With Warner Bros.
"Bittertown" To Be Released By Warner Bros. Records
Friday, Sep 16th, 2005

NASHVILLE, TN (September 16, 2005) - Warner Bros. Records is pleased to announce the signing of singer-songwriter Lori McKenna. McKenna has been making and releasing independent albums to critical acclaim since 1998 and rose to prominence on Music Row after landing three cuts, including the title track, on Warner Bros. recording artist Faith Hill's #1 album, Fireflies. On September 27th, Warner Bros. will be re-releasing Lori's most recent album, Bittertown, which was originally released on the Signature Sounds label. The album contains two of the songs that Faith Hill covered on Fireflies, "Stealing Kisses" and "If You Ask."

A mother of five and a lifelong resident of the working-class Boston suburb of Stoughton, McKenna has cultivated a devoted following in Europe and the United States. Her propensity for expressing life's stories in honest and unadorned language caught the ear of Faith Hill, who, upon hearing one of Lori McKenna's songs, immediately asked to hear everything she had ever recorded. Hill delayed the completion of her long-awaited sixth studio album in order to include the three McKenna tracks.

Using the family's Ford minivan as her tour bus, Lori has logged thousands of miles, performing at intimate venues throughout the United States. She made her European debut with a series of shows last April, and her audience has continued to grow steadily.

Now, with her first major label recording contract, the magic of Lori McKenna's music will be available to the masses. Warner Bros. is thrilled to have Lori onboard, and is excited to have the opportunity bring her music to the world.
